VERNADO
I've had my moments; days in the sun.
Moments I was second to none.
Moments when I knew I did what I thought I couldn't do.
Back to Basics||
Name: Vernado
Age: Five years
Gender: Male
Pack: Seifal
Rank: Warrior
Other: N/A
Short personality description: Observant, wise, understanding, and mysterious.
A Quick Glance in the Mirror||
Appearance:
Build: Vernado is abnormally large for an Arctic Wolf of his size; however this is due to genetics. His father was ridiculously large, but Vernado’s height is a respective 33 inches. His weight is the normal 175 pounds, though most of this is muscle mass. He uses his brute strength to his advantage when necessary, though what he lacks is the true speed to evade others. One cannot have it all when it comes to being on the heftier side. Vernado has a broad chest and shoulders, making him seem rather wide but in this category it’s a reasonable size.
Coat Color: Vernado has an interesting coat color. He is not solidly white like most would think he would be. He does have white within his coat, but a dark gray takes over the majority of his coat. This dark gray is more predominant around his legs, and fades into a lighter hue around his belly and paws. His back is a subtle white, but towards his face and neck this white is more defined. His ears are a dark gray at the tips, and then fade into a lighter gray at the base of them. His coat is usually thick and coarse. It can be pleasant to touch, but for the most part it’s rather rough like sandpaper.
Scars: Vernado has multiple scars varying from large cats to wolves. These scars in general come from fighting naturally. However, the tales behind the claw and teeth marks Vernado keeps to himself. The scars make others tend to avoid him, or be lured in by the scars that have taken over his body. Though if one asks to know the story, Vernado may or may not share.
Eye Color: His eyes are a deep mocha brown, and tend to be inexpressive. They do take on the appearance of being lifeless and cold, but it is out of habit.

Personality: Vernado is stand-offish. He is hard to approach due to his sheer size and the scars that flaw his muscular body. A look of solemnity always covers his face, and he is hard to read. He finds the show of emotion to show vulnerability, and refuses to show it. Nothing at all can faze him, and in fact, he is hard to get a reaction out of him. He expects everything, and can detect other wolves easily. Vernado is unpredictable. One minute he can be calm, and then the next he can be completely outraged. And trust me; you don’t want to be around him when he’s angry. He has a wild and untamable temperament. It is not so easy to provoke his temperament, but once his anger has bubbled out of control, he will stop at nothing. He will kill if he has to, and in fact has throughout his past. Vernado is serious, and is incredibly mature. It is practically almost impossible to make him laugh. He doesn’t play games. Vernado is wise and gives out good advice, though if you’re the type that won’t take his opinion or perspective on a situation then he won’t give it, and will dismiss you from his presence. Vernado is powerful both inside and out. He’ll do whatever he can to protect the other beings that mean the most to him, however most of the time these beings are pups. He spends his time and favors to be surrounded by a group of pups. When he’s around them, his defensive and cold demeanor falls completely. And he becomes a big, playful male, though pups are the only ones to make him laugh heartily. There has always been something about pups, and they can look past the scars, and approach him with ease. He has found it easier to talk to pups than those around his age. And he doubts it will ever change. It’s something about their wondering mind, that constantly asks questions, and he knows they strive to learn. Vernado – if he sees an abandoned pup – will in a heartbeat take them under his nonexistent wings. And those that he “adopted,” will be protected for life.
Vernado is stubborn and determined, and to a certain degree he is anti-social. When he wants something bad enough, he’ll go to any measure to get it. He is opinionated, and those who do not respect him in general might as well not speak to him or look at him. Though he tends to avoid confrontation, he will be the first to confront you on anything he may have heard from another being. If Vernado has a problem with you, you will be the first to find out. He doesn’t and never will care for what others think about him. And their opinion on who he is has never effected him in any way, and it will certainly not start now. Vernado is definitely mysterious and dark in a way which makes it that much harder to approach him. He rarely speaks, but when he does he’ll make sure you’ll listen to what he has to say. To him, actions speak louder than words. He acts on impulse, and thrives off of adrenaline rushes. Vernado has no fears of anything or so it seems, but these fears remain hidden. He is far from open, and tends to keep everything locked away. To him, he has no soul, and if any it has been buried away. His heart is genuine and he has others interests in his favor. However, if you befriend Vernado, you have found a loyal and trustworthy friend who will – no doubt – be there for you until the end. He cares for others before himself, and cares for himself last. Vernado has issues in and out of himself, but he refuses to share anything about his past. And due to these “problems” he has trust issues. Trust is earned and not magically given over, and it will take a good amount of time and effort to gain his entire trust. Pups gain it almost instantly, but older wolves must gain it. Vernado is mainly level-headed, and prefers to listen to each side of the story rather than taking the violent way out, though finds himself doing that when his temperament is out of his control. Vernado is also a realist. He will never sugar-coat the truth, and will you tell you up front about things. The truth hurts, and reality does too. He is also a strong believer in the ideology of “An eye for an eye.” You treat him badly; he’ll treat you badly – if not worse – in return. He will give you the bitter taste of your own medicine to make you learn a lesson. Vernado no doubt is aggressive in certain situations, and so beware. You never know when he might strike.

History: Vernado was the oldest out of the lot. His brother was the middle, and his sister the very last. He protected them with his life whenever their parents went off to socialize, and he never let them out of his sight. However, at a young age of two he left his family behind to seek a better life. Vernado’s father had warned him, but he paid no heed to that warning. Then on his first night alone, they struck. A crazed group of males had bullied Vernado into following, and when he stubbornly disobeyed, they had attacked. Defiant and dumb he stood there, gritting his teeth as they bit and clawed against his skin. Then when Vernado could bear no more, he gave in. He was then brought to a lifeless land that overflowed with menacing males. It wasn’t before long he became one of them. Vernado was brain washed into thinking that every being that lived, breathed and moved should be killed. And killed he did. Vernado fought his way to the top, and came out swinging. The Alpha Male had then told him of his father’s past. Vernado’s father had been apart of this pack, and he refused to listen to it. And he never let it sink in. Vernado battled constantly with numerous beings, and had found himself winning almost everything. Nothing could defeat him, but when Vernado heard that his father had been slaughtered brutally, and his mother beaten to a pulp.. He began to feel again. Vernado felt the worry for the well-being of his siblings, and he left to seek them out. He found his siblings huddled together, refusing to leave one another. They didn’t recognize Vernado, and he couldn’t blame them. It was then that Vernado had been slapped with reality when they told him he wasn’t their brother, and he knew that he had changed beyond belief.
Soon they believed Vernado, and they listened to his order to leave completely. To run away and never come back. To never see the fear stricken faces of their parents, and they listened. It was the last time Vernado ever saw them. Vernado had just turned four when he approached the Alpha Male. Vernado murdered him, and though the battle was long and bloody, he had proved himself stronger than most. Vernado left that pack with nothing gained but his family lost. Vernado wandered the earth feeling lost and out of his element, and when he spotted a lone pup he became attached to it. It was his last attempt at proving himself to be better than the killer he thought he was. Vernado adopted a few pups along the way, teaching them, and making sure they would never make the same mistakes as he had. It was also his last attempt at a family. And when those pups became old enough to journey out on their own, he felt lost and alone once more. And to this very day, Vernado has yet to settle down, and constantly wanders this world with only his thoughts to keep him company but perhaps it's time for change.
