Back to Basics||
Name: John
Age: Almost five cycles of the seasons
Gender: Male
Pack: Miro
Rank: Beta Male
Other: N/A
Short personality description: He is who he is.
A Quick Glance in the Mirror||
Looks/Attributes: His hide is made of a collection of shadows that cover him from head to tail. They keep no memories of the conflicts in his time, which is odd considering his pelt's color. The black is a huge contrast to the color of his orb like eyes. Their deep forest green seem to hold a mysterious power as if the being was looking into a void, being taken in by the seconds.
His muscles came from his father and his speed from his mother, the combination has come in handy over the years. His frame has an average density to it but his movements are smooth and swift. He holds a slightly above average weight and stands at thirty eight inches tall from the shoulder down. John does not consider himself a tall or heavy creature but he is also not short or light. He is a balanced creation of his father and mother.
Height: 38 inches
Weight: 137lbs
Eyes: Forest green
Pelt: Shadow black

Personality: John is quite reserved but polite in the same way. He knows his manners, when to show respect, and all the formalities that are to be known. However, he does not hold back when it comes to his younger sister being hurt or in danger. He cares deeply about her, he is her guardian, and his life has been like that since his pup years. He holds his past to himself and will only give a generic answer to anyone who asks about it. The gallant wolf is strong when it comes to his tolerance level and does not anger easily ever. He would rather solve problems without the method of combat first but he knows when it is futile to try as well. John has a hardy mind but even he knows that if someone was to use his sister as weapon against him then he would lose. His ultimate weakness is her but he lives to protect her, so to him he has not lost if she is not hurt.
He can be very gentle and kind to whom he chooses to be as his heart is quite warm when it is open for someone to see. The canidae rarely ever allows another to see what he is beneath the black coat, it is just how is his and eventually one may get beyond it but for now, he is who he is. Protective. Loyal. Neutral. A mystery that has never been solved. He is John.

History: “She has left us too,” a whisper in the dark said softly to the other nearby, “so many of this litter have died because of the conflicts.“ “And now there is only her left,” the sire said as he nuzzled the survivor. “She is a strong one, don't you think so Zvon?” the female said as she nuzzled the young pup, the alpha male nodded before looking the only other male pup’s way. “You are awake,” his father said motioning him to come over to them, “this is your little sister-“ “-Shoka.” His mother finished as she smiled warmly to him and to his new little sister. “Make sure she is happy, alright?” Kavan said nuzzling her son once more before the couple’s departure. Zvonimir looked to him with pride in his eyes and walked to the entrance of the den. “John, you are to protect her, do not harm come to her. Understand me?” John nodded once as his parents then left in the rain storm. His little paws wanted to follow them but he knew otherwise. His young green eyes watched as the last of their pack gathered just as his mother and father looked back to him for a moment with a look in their eyes like it was their last goodbye, and left. Not knowing that in the end, that would be their last goodbye for all eternity.
-----
That was the beginning of it all for him, from there on his life was taking care of his little baby sister. He was the first born of his family, his sire was alpha male of the pack and his dam was the alpha female. Together, they ran a small but tight pack. That was how he remembered it, his parents were so happy to have him but almost a relieved happy. He never knew why, he never really thought about it until the next spring came. His mother gave birth to a litter of five pups, three being female and two being male. Kavan named the males and Zvoninmir named the females, in the end they had Canm, Jack, Valua, Arathae, and Shoka. John felt happy as he thought he would soon have siblings to run and hunt with but that was a dream compared to what happened. One by one the pups of the litter died, first was Valua, then Camn, after was Arathae, and then Jack. Death was common and known to him before his first kill; John was informed of what the real world was holding for the pack at that time, and the reasons why his younger siblings died. Reality was pushed into him with no warning and his young mind lost. After his parents left, he kept his sister and himself within the den for a couple of months then they had to move as their food was migrating. He taught himself to hunt, to track, to find safe shelter, and all the survival needs. Times were tough when he could only catch enough for one, so he gave it to his sister. This happened more than once for him when winter was near and as more time passed, he had began to grow a small hatred for his sister, the world, and life in general. This led to a decision of his that changed him forever. John had gathered food for a day and left it with his sister then, ditched her. He no longer wanted to fend for such a burden; the journey by himself did not last long as it brought him to small pack of stranglers. All males, all hungry, they had caught a scent and began to run for it. John realized it was his sister's, his legs sprang into action, running with speed to the den where he left her. However, as he reached an edge of a small drop above the den he stopped, why should he go assist her? Was what he thought, she was nothing but a burden to him, and without her, his life would be easier. The stranglers drew closer as he continued to think; his father and mother left him with nothing but a leech. Why save it? John was caught up in his mind as their eyes locked on her, he could see her eyes widen in fear as they began to close in on her. She called for him, called and called, and then it happened.
John found himself between the group and his sister, his muscles reacted fast as his teeth were bared. They fought, tearing muscle from limb, shedding blood over the trunks of trees, and releasing the echoes of yelps, snarls, and growls throughout small woods. His mind had recalled certain techniques that his father practiced with against those who challenged him and he fended them off. Two dead and the rest fled, he was scratched, bitten, and his muscles tired. He would heal though; John looked to his scared sister and returned to their home to comfort her. The creation of Zvonimir and Kava changed that day, his mind, thoughts, and soul. From there, he grew more but always protecting his sister as she grew.
-----
"Happy and protected," John said to the clouds above, "just as you said." The wind kissed his cheek as the leaves danced around him, fall had come and it was time for them to move again. He only wished to say something before they left as the height of the edge was higher than most places. "Hey! What are you doing up there?" his sister called, he smiled as he got down. Landing with a soft thud, his shadow black pet relaxed into the shade of the trees. "Feeling the wind," John said as they began to head off to their next destination.Meet the Family||

Role play sample:
“John, you are to protect her, do not harm come to her. Understand me?”... “Make sure she is happy, alright?”
"Always," he whispered to the night breeze as it wisped to the far and beyond. His pelt of the shadows glowed quietly under the moon's pearl white rays, the night was quiet as usual and the air sweet. The creature lay silent as the one beside him slept; it was nights like these that he would always stay awake for. As the stars shined bright and the winds danced, the land seemed in harmony and peace. John glanced to the right where his sister lay; she slept quiet and peaceful like nothing in the world was ever wrong. He smiled as his head turned forward again and then up. The forest green pools reflected the shimmer of the stars and their beauty as they continued to dance. The night went on as he stay awake, watching as the lands sung and swung.
A small glow began to light the sky with orange and pink, making the moon move west and the stars fade back into the background. The animals around began to wake with welcome hellos to the sun and the colors of land rose up to smile to the light blue skies. The male shifted his weight before rising and stretching out. His limber legs brought him to the other creature and then he woke her. First with a nudge with his muzzle and then a push with his paw. "Alright, I am up," she said to him before even opening her clear blue eyes. "What is for breakfast?" the female asked as she stretched out, John looked around and took a sniff of the air. He left her for a moment to walk around the small gathering of trees nearby, his ears pricked up as a branch was snapped. He clung to the shadows to get a look at what made the noise and found a wonderful deer. Not large but enough to satisfy them both for breakfast.
John soon returned with an adolescent deer within his jaws and placed it down between them. They ate and finished within minutes, he took a drink before looking behind to where his sister was. She was there beside him as usual; the two took off down the meadows and fields with the wind as their wings. Going to a place they would call home.
