As long as I am breathing...
He looked at the female's expressions as she seemed to take in his words, a small expression came across his face just as he saw what she was thinking. "You question whether it was wise to move so abruptly," he said with calm and smooth voice as his eyes settled on the trees before them. "To some it might, however if we had stayed then there would nothing for us to live on. The food was becoming scarce and numbers of other packs growing at a fast rate, I am not sure what has happened there but I did not want Shoka to die at such a young age." John had a reassuring look in his eyes as he finished that explanation, though he did not say what another reason of why he had them leave. The land would have become a war zone and continuing battle for food, yes, that was some what obvious, however where they came from it was not common for others to take away the females of another as well as kill their pack and all precious to them, so no return could be made. John knew the reasons to stay, his father's lands and his mother's home. To stay would have been nice, but he would take the chance. Shoka would have been too weak to defend herself there and others there might have noticed her mother's features on her, telling her the details of their parents death.
'Protect her, make sure she is happy,' he thought calmly, returning from his past thoughts as he blinked once before looking back to Delia. "There is much more peace here than where we came from so it is better for the both of us," the shadow colored male said catching her attempt at a joke, but he did not laugh. Actually, the wolf had not laughed or smiled to anyone but his sister for years now, he only hoped that she did not take his actions as rude. John found her actions interesting but some how he did not completely believe that the act that she showed was her true self. He would not push either way, the creature looked over past the river. "I have seen some prey near, enough to keep a pack here well fed," he replied calmly, looking to her as the next words came rolling off his tongue, "we can go hunt for a kill, if you are hungry."

...I will always be Here.
